Kate Bojsza and Chris Jend, key members of the 1271 Avenue of the Americas design team, will be among 150 speakers from 30 nations gathered in Bern, Switzerland, for the International Conference on Advanced Building Skins, Europe’s leading event on building envelopes.
Their presentation, “Recladding a Mid-Century Modern Icon for the 21st-Century Workplace,” will detail the architectural and structural challenges of transforming 1271 Avenue of the Americas—the former Time & Life Building in Midtown Manhattan—into a sleek, light-filled, and energy-efficient office tower whose new facade and refurbished spaces have attracted a roster of major tenants.
The conference, to be held on October 28 and 29, will be broadcast live.
