Kate discovered early on that she is motivated more by the synergy of a team than by solitary effort. At the start of her career at PCF, she worked primarily on exterior wall design but soon moved on to job captain and eventually project management. Her expertise lies in the facilitation of good design, from managing diverse consultant teams and stakeholders to overseeing the execution of details during construction to refining systems and methods used in architecture. She brings to this multifaceted role a perspective enriched by mentorship and service to the broader professional community.

Kate has served as project manager for a wide range of building types and scales in various settings across the globe, from New York, Washington DC, and Kansas City to Mumbai and Bengaluru. Wherever the work takes her, Kate’s exceptional leadership ensures the successful navigation of complex zoning and approvals processes and nurtures excellence in her colleagues at PCF and beyond.

A native of the New York City area, Kate is a firm believer in the potential of renovation to reduce the city’s energy and carbon footprint. She has been responsible for many of the firm’s recent modernization projects in New York, including the Arts Center at Governors Island—converting a 1870s munitions warehouse into a new art gallery, performance spaces, and artist studios for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council—and the renewal and restoration of Wallace Harrison’s mid-century modern Time & Life Building at Rockefeller Center, involving a complete recladding and reimagined plaza and entry sequence.

Kate’s speaking engagements and research address the interrelationship of asset value, design quality, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint.
