Jay L. Berman AIA
Jay Berman joined Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in 1998 and served as a design partner from 2009 to 2018. During twenty years of practice with the firm, he played a leading role in the design of academic, institutional, corporate, residential, tall building, and repositioning projects, including the Center for Government and International Studies at Harvard University, headquarters projects for Goldman Sachs in New York and Bangalore, and the recladding/repositioning of the former Time-Life Building in New York. During this period, he also led many of the firm’s large-scale master planning assignments.
Mr. Berman played a central role in the firm’s first assignment in India in 2006 and subsequently served as partner-in-charge for projects in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. Between 2009 and 2018, he led the master planning and design process for the 17-acre mixed-use development at Lodha Place in central Mumbai, comprising the World Towers residential complex (World One, World Crest, and World View) and associated amenity structures and landscapes; a boutique office building, Mumbai’s first Class A office tower (One Lodha Place); and a retail high street and public linear park.
